Cranes over 2000 LBS capacity:

New Regulations for Service Truck Cranes and Articulating Cranes working in construction. These smaller cranes Will Be Subject to the New OSHA Requirements effective in July of 2017. We recognize the unique characteristics of the Service Truck Crane Industry. We can tailor a program that fits your needs. Operators will need to be certified, by passing both a Written Exam and a Practical Exam, which are similar to other NCCCO testing programs (call for more information).

More Crane Programs

TSS for New or Seasoned Operators:

TSS... Telescopic Small, is defined as a Truck Mounted Crane that is operated from a Fixed Cab (does not rotate with Boom Sections). Has Stand Up Control Station or Remote Control. The tonnage of Crane or Boom Length is not a factor for this category. This is the most common type of crane style across the United States by number. This is also a great place to start a career as a new operator.

Recommended easiest steps to becoming certified:

  1. Attend our 16 hour Prep Class
  2. Finish all Practice Exams (homework)
  3. Re-read all Classroom Materials/OSHA Books
  4. Pass the NCCCO Core Exam (90 questions) and the NCCCO TSS Specialty
  5. Schedule practice time on our Simulator with Instructor
    Schedule time on our 1768 Manitex TSS Crane for Practice
  6. Practical (hands-on) Exam on TSS Crane

Upon successful completion and qualification by NCCCO, you will become a Certified Operator and Documentation will be mailed directly to you from NCCCO in about (2) weeks. This program can be completed in 7 - 10 days.

TLL:

TLL... Telescopic Large is defined as a Carrier or Truck Mounted Hydraulic Crane that is operated from a Swing Cab (cab rotates along with the boom sections). Although recommended for experienced operators, can be taken along with TSS or added to a TSS Certification at a later date.

Steps to becoming certified:

  1. If taking at the same time as TSS, this program will add (1) more day of classroom instruction and (1) more Written Exam.
  2. Additional Practice Time on Large Hydro Crane and a Practical Exam.

LBT and LBC... Lattice Boom Truck and Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes

These are very special cranes ranging in size of 20 - 3500 tons with boom lengths common from 40' to 400+'. Prior experience with Large Hydros is suggested, but not required.

Easiest steps to becoming certified:

  1. Attend our 24 hour Prep Class
  2. Receive special one-on-one instruction for Load Charts.
  3. Finish all Practice Exams (homework) and Special Exams for Lattice knowledge.
  4. Review all Materials and OSHA Book prior to testing.
  5. Pass the NCCCO Written Exams
  6. Schedule Practice Time on our Linkbelt Lattice Crane
  7. Pass Practical (hands-on) Exam.
